Any women who wants to sell some art please contact me ASAP because we still have room for more artists. The show will be from 10am until 3pm and the fee is 10% of your sales to the women's center. Call me or email me back with any questions.

The Athens County Women's Art Guild has been active for 2 years now. A few women artists have been talking and decided that we needed a group in the community to support women in the arts. This will be a group for creativity, socialization and support.

August 15th - Carrie Rogers and her fabulous gourd information
September 19th - Shrunken Apple Heads with Kelly
October 17th - Putting shrunken heads onto bodies with Danette
November 21st - Making posters for the black Friday show happening on Black Friday:)
December 19th - potluck party and art exchange

Yeah for us!!!
I am so sorry I missed the first meeting but WOW I am so excited by the turn out. We had 12 ladies come to the meeting and Megan and Kelly did an awesome job getting the ball rolling. I started a list serve of emails to spread the love and information about the group so if you did NOT get an email from me please contact me at musictoo@hotmail.com or at 707-1667 so I can get your info.
The next meeting is April 19th at 6pm at ARTS/West and we are going to have a presentation about Recycling Greeting Cards. Please bring scissors, old greeting cards and glue if you have some around the house. Here are some other announcements to pass on......

- Congrats to all the ladies who were in the Women of Appalachia Show. You girls Rock!!!!
- Don't miss Kari Gunter-Seymour at her art opening at Casa Nueva on April 6th 2010. Congrats Kari !!!!!!
- Please check out some great women chowing their art at the Athens Public Library in April.
- Final Friday for April at Starbrick Gallery will feature Rene Olson and her "Hidden Treasures" . The opening will be from 6 to 10pm on April 30th. Way to go Rene!
- Don't forget to go to the The Plaid Butterfly located next to Starbrick Clay in Nelsonville to see work that Kelly Lawrence and Nancy Baur have on display. They made a shawl for the HerArt project and it is now up for raffle. Tickets to win are $1.00 and the split to pot goes to the artists and to the American Cancer Society. Tell Johanna and Buddy the dog we said hello!!!
